近くなったらって英語でなんて言うの？

nearer the time を使いたいのですが、これは副詞ですか？文法上の正しい使い方を教えていただきたいです。
I will be busy with preparetion nearer to the performance.

ーI will be busy with preparations nearer the performance. 

または次のように言うのも良いですよ。
ーI'll be getting busier once we get closer to the performance.
「公演が近くなったら、もっと忙しくなるだろう」
to get busier で「もっと忙しくなる」
to get closer to ... で「…が近くなる」
once で「一旦〜すれば」
