一回だと高くないけど、毎回だと高いって英語でなんて言うの？

ジムのレンタルシューズについて友達と話していたのですが、レンタルシューズの料金について毎回払うと高いというニュアンスを伝えたいときは何というのでしょうか？

The cost piles up if you rent a shoes every time.
で合ってますでしょうか？

ーThe cost piles up if you rent shoes every time you go to the gym.
「毎回ジムに行くたびに靴をレンタルしてたら、積み重なって高くなる」

または次のようにも言えます。
ーIf you rent a pair of shoes just one time, it's not so bad, but if you rent them every time you go to the gym, it gets expensive. 
「靴を一回借りるだけならそんなに悪くないけど、ジムに行くたびに借りてたら、高くなる」
to get expensive で「高くなる」

ジムのレンタルシューズのシチュエーションについて、「一回だと高くないけど、毎回だと高い」と言いたいなら、英語で「It's not that expensive if you only do it once but if you continue each time then it will pile up.」と言えます。

ちなみに、yudaiさんの英文は少しだけ直します。「shoes」は複数なので、その前「a」が不要です。
そうしたら「The cost piles up if you rent shoes every time.」になります。
