～の部分が単数形だったら"it was"、複数形だったら"they were"になります。

「使い終わったら全部元の位置に戻しておいてください。」
"every"は単数形、"all ~"は複数形を使います。
また、
"put ~ away"「～を片づける」を使うことも出来ます。
