within〜は「〜の中で、〜の範囲内で」という意味です。

living areaは「生活圏」です。
前者は、会話の中で自然に使える表現です。後者は、「生活圏が〜だ」と強調したい場合に使うと良いでしょう。
「生活圏」はliving areaと言います(*^_^*)
あとは、

「私は家から100メートル以上離れたところで何かをやるということは殆どありません」
のように言っても、
生活圏が100メートルという内容は表せると思います(*^_^*)
