I misunderstood the time = [時間](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/45991/)を勘違いしてしまった I mistook the timeだと「[間違えた](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/9176/)」になりますがこの場合misunderstandの方が使われます。大胆時間を間違える時は故意でないのでこっちの表現の方が日本語で言う「時間を間違えた」より正しいような気がしますよね It somehow went over my head = 聞いていたはずなのにうっかり忘れてしまった。 I know you told me that we were meeting earlier, but it somehow went over my head. (待ち合わせを早めた事をあなたに聞いたはずなのに、うっかり忘れてしまったわ。)

  • I had the wrong time

  • I thought it was on a different time

他の直訳的な言い方もまたできると思います。 I had the wrong time. (違った、[間違った](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/9176/)時間を思ってました。) 最後に "sorry”([すいません](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/132555/))と付ければ "勘違いでしたね” という自分が間違っていたことをきちんと伝えることもまたできますね。 そんな形ではさらに直訳に近い、"I thought it was on a different time.”、「全く違う時間から始まるのだと思っていました。」とストレートに言うこともまたOK。 このように簡単な単語で砕いた表現も、他の先生がアドバイスしてくれているピッタリの単語を使う言い方と合わせて使い分けてみてください。 参考になればと思います♪

  • I got mixed up about the time.

  • I made a mistake about the time.

"I got mixed up" is a phrase we can use when we make any mistakes. You can say, "I'm sorry, I got mixed up about what day we were going to meet" or "I'm sorry, I got mixed up about what you wanted for dinner." You can also simply say, "I made a mistake." Very straightforward! Have a great day!
「I got mixed up」というフレーズは間違えた時いつでも使える表現です。 「I'm sorry, I got mixed up about what day we were going to meet」や「I'm sorry, I got mixed up about what you wanted for dinner.」ということもできます。 また、シンプルに「I made a mistake.」と言ってもいいです。

  • I got confused with the lesson time.

  • I got mixed up with the lesson time.

These expressions are very similar. The words "confused" and "mixed up" are synonyms. By using these expressions you're letting your teacher know the reason for your absence was a misunderstanding of the start time for the lesson and that you accept responsibility for the mistake. It's a good idea to explain to your teacher why you missed the class so they don't think it was something that they did.
この二つの文はとてもよく似ています。"confused" と "mixed up" は同意語です。 どちらの文も「レッスンを欠席してしまったのは開始時間を誤解していたためで、その責任は自分にある」と伝えています。 欠席の訳を説明するのはいいことですね。 理由がわかれば、先生が「俺何か悪いことしたかな」と思うこともないでしょうから。

  • I misread the time.

    play icon

直訳すると「私は時間を読み間違えた。」です。 「時間」は「読む」と表現することができます。 read the time で「時間を読む(見る)」 mis は動詞の前につき、「誤って」を表しますので misread the time 「時間を誤って読む」になります。 発音は「ミスレッド」で、「ミスリード」mislead とは異なりますので気を付けてください。

  • I am so sorry. I had the incorrect time

  • Sorry, I thought my lesson was at a different time

"I am so sorry. I had the incorrect time."- It is always nice to add a small apology if you happen to make a mistake. The word 'incorrect' can also be substituted for 'wrong'. "Sorry, I thought my lesson was at a different time" - Again, an apology is added to the beginning of the sentence through the use of the word 'sorry'. In this sentence you are not only admitting that you had the wrong time, but also adding that you thought that the lesson was at another time.
"I am so sorry. I had the incorrect time."- 何か間違えた時は謝るのがいいです。 'incorrect' は 'wrong'と同じ意味です。 "Sorry, I thought my lesson was at a different time" - この時も初めにSorryが付いています。これはレッスンの時間を勘違いしていたことを伝えています。

  • Whoops, I made a mistake about the time

  • I made a total cock-up of the time

    play icon

Whoops, I made a mistake about the time I made a total cock-up of the time Both these phrases are informal and can be used with teachers who have a sense of humour - like me! These phrases acknowledge you have made a mistake and that you are sorry, but they do so in an informal way. Cock-up means to make a mistake Whoops tells people you have made a mistake.
Whoops, I made a mistake about the time I made a total cock-up of the time これらのフレーズは両方とも形式ばらない表現で、ユーモアのセンスがある先生との間で使えます。例えば私のような先生ですね! これらのフレーズを使うと、あなたが間違いを犯しそれを申し訳ないということを意味しますが、形式ばらない印象があります。 'Cock-up'というのは間違いをすることを意味します。 'Whoops'と言うことで、あなたが間違ったことを周りの人に知らせます。
