  • How's it going?

  • How's it hanging?

というのはいかがでしょうか ヽ(o´ω`o)ノ 「How are you?」 How's it hanging? How are you doing? How's it going や How's it hanging などは少しカジュアルな印象です。 How have you been?

  • How are you?

  • Are you alright?

  • How's it going?

How are you? - Formal, this can be used in many different situations whether business or personal. Are you alright? - Informal, this can be used with co-workers, friends and family. However better used if the person doesn't seem them self or looks ill. How's it going? - I use this everywhere, however in formal and business situations it is inappropriate to speak like this. Going and be replace by "doing - How are you doing?"
How are you? Are you alright? How's it going? その場合、How are you doing?"

  • How are you?

How are you? 私自身、How are you?

  • How are you?

  • Hello, how are you?

  • Good day, how are you?

Some people uses it as a greeting. not really wanting to know if you are having a good/bad day. Asking friends and family "how are you?" you are interested/concerned in how they are feeling, but saying "how are you" to people you don't really know, is just a form of polite greeting, so instead of saying "hello" someone will just ask, "how are you?"
友達や家族に「How are you?」

  • How are you doing?

  • Hello Jack. How are things going?

  • Long time no see Jack. How are you getting on?

When you meet someone you have not seen recently, it is almost instinctive to find out how he/she is or is doing. A straight forward "How are you" is often heard. This question is asked in order to find out about the person's health. It is very formal. But, on an informal basis, you may ask the person: How are you doing?' and he/she may answer: I'm doing well and you? or Hello Jack. How are things going? or Long time no see Jack. How are you getting on? and he/she may answer: I'm getting on just fine and you?
率直に”How are you?”(元気ですか?) そして “I’m doing well and you?”(良いよ。 How are things going?” あるいは、 “Long time no see Jack. How are you getting on? そうすると、 “I’m getting on just fine and you?”

The phrase "long time no see" is a common expression saying that you have not seen a person for a long period of time. If you say that you have not seen someone "forever" or "for ages" it actually means for a long time.

When you use the question: how have you been? "How have" is referring to the period of time since you saw that person last. Here's an example: Hey! It's been a while, how have you been? I've been great, thanks! Everything has been going good with work since I saw you last.

  • How’s everything?

  • What's up?

Asking someone, "How are you?" is something we commonly do and this is a polite a common way of asking someone how they are. Stick with this expression if you are meeting someone new or are in a situation where you need to speak formally. On the other hand, these two expressions are perfect in an informal situation. 1. "How's everything?"- Everything means everything, your job, health, family, hobbies, etc. 2. "What's up?" - USed to ask how your life is at the moment.

  • How are things?

  • How have you been?

1. How are things? How are things means the same thing as "How are you?" When you ask this question, the other person will usually respond with information about their family or work. Whereas the question, "How are you?" is usually met with: "I'm fine" or "I'm good" which does not say much as this is simply a generic answer that most people respond with. 'Generic'' means common or general. 2. How have you been? How have you been is another way of asking, "How are you" or "How are you doing?"

When you do not see someone for a long time and you meet up with them or bump into them it is only polite to ask either of the above two questions. Example; - Hello, how are you? - Hi, how have you been doing? - Hello there, long time no see, how have you been doing?
