If you want to know the weather for the day and want to ask someone, you may say something like "Can you tell me the weather prediction for today please?" or you can simply ask for the "weather forecast".

So, the bulletin may say: According to the weather forecast, it will be cloudy and raining in some parts over the weekend.

Both of these terms are common and easily understood. Generally when looking at the weather prediction, you are wanting to know if it's going to rain, which is why many call it the "rain radar".
The weather outlook shows us a glimpse into what the weather might be like that day or week.
The forecast is not always 100% accurate because nature is alive and moves naturally in its own ways but forecasters are able to estimate what the weather might be like based on some circumstances.
