It depends a little whether this is a business or personal email. In a business situation it would be preferable to state at the beginning of the letter that there are a number of topics you wish to consider and then simply put each new topic in a new paragraph.

「別件で確認したいことがありますが...」と言いたい場合には、
「I have something that I would like to confirm/check regarding a separate matter...」と表現します。

All of the above are good ways of changing the subject but at the same time asking the other person's permission to change the subject.
This is especially good with customers or colleagues in a business setting as they don't always want to listen or have the time to listen. By starting the sentence like this you are giving the other persona n opportunity to say 'Yes, that's fine' or 'No, we don't have time at the moment'.

*On a different note. - This phrase means to change subject. If you want tackle similar agenda/subject you can say related matter.

( This could even apply on a telephone call ;-D) TO avoid any confusion it is always best... to point out the change of direction/subject matter! If you want to talk about a different subject after having finished talking about an earlier one, it is definitely better to mention that you are changing the subject so that the recipient of the e-mail does not get confused. Confusion reigns in some people's e-mails because they do not indicate to the recipient that the subject, or the topic, has changed.
You can do this by putting it this way:

or
By the way, something else ,worth mentioning is_________
先に話していたことを終えた後に、異なる話題について話をしたいときには、メールの受け手が混乱しないように話題を変えることについて説明をした方が良いでしょう。
受け手に主題または話題が変わることを説明しなければ、混乱が生じます。
このように言うと良いでしょう。
