「〇〇は何かというと～」
という言い方の英語が思いつきませんでしたが、
こんな言い方はいかがでしょう？
What do you think today's topic is? / Guess what today's topic is.
今日のトピックはなんでしょう？ / 今日のトピックを当ててみて。
The answer is ...
それは何かというと…
または、普通に
Today's topic is ...
を伸ばしながら言うと「何かというと～」の雰囲気が出ます。笑
Todaaaay's topic.... iiiis..... 〇〇 !!
「〜は何かと言うと」と説明する場合にいうならば "If I tell you what this means" というといいでしょう。
例文：
"If I tell you what this means, then you will regret it." 「これは何かと教えてあげると、君は後悔するだろう。」
"If I tell you what this means, will you give me a reward?" 「これは何かと教えてあげると、お返しに何かくれるかい？」
