アニメって英語でなんて言うの？

Anime is called "anime" or "Japanese cartoons" in English. I read anime comics. I enjoy drawing Japanese cartoons.

You will not be confused with any cartoons made in other places in the world if you say Anime. Japanese cartoons - If you're talking about anime and the person doesn't understand what that word means, you can say "Japanese cartoons" because that is the exact description of anime. You most likely will not need to specify "Japanese cartoons" but if you do you can say that. Normally only adults or older ones will not understand the word "anime" Japanese animated shows - This is another way of describing the word "anime" if someone does not understand. All of the same rules apply as when you say "Japanese cartoons" it is just another way to describe the word anime. Side note: Many people say that if you say "Japanese anime" that is is redundant because "anime" already implies that the cartoon was made in Japan. No one will ever say that they're watching "anime" from America, they would say they're watching "cartoons" because you cannot make Japanese cartoons not in Japan.

Most times you don't need to explain that it's Japanese cartoons or anything like that. If you needed to explain it, you could say *Its a really popular type of cartoon in Japan. *A famous anime film that people might know is 'my neighbour totoro' *Anime is a cartoon which started out as a comic book.
