英語圏では、ベットで寝るのが一般的ですが、日本の「布団」を知っている方も増えています。なので、最近では、Futon（布団）という言葉も通じることが多いです。
「敷く」には「一面に平らに広げる・並べる」という意味がありますので、lay（広げる）という単語を使います。
例文：Could you lay 5 sheets of paper one on top of another?
（紙を５枚重ねてくれる？）
「旅館では布団をひいてくれる所がある。」は、In a Japanese-style inn/hotel, there are places where the staff goes to all the rooms to lay out the futons.
ちなみに「布団を片付ける」は、put away the futonになります。
