「本の[間](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52376/)に[しおり](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/62588/)を挟む」＝ put/insert the bookmark between the pages
「挟む」という便利な英語動詞がありませんので、「put/insert ～between ～ (and ～）」という長い言い方を使う必要があります。
例えば：
Put the cheese between two slices of bread.
（パンにチーズを挟む）
Put the bookmark between the pages of the book.
（本のページの間にしおりを挟む）
My bag got stuck between the doors.
（ドアにカバンを挟まれた。）
※受動態の場合「get stuck between ～」という言い方を使えます。

1.) to insert (挟む) 「挟む」は英語でたくさんの訳出がありますが、今回の一番適切な訳出は英語でto insertと言えます。To insertは何かと何かの間に入れるという意味があります。
例えば、
I inserted a bookmark into the book. (本の間にしおりを挟みます)
I will put this between my hands. I want to keep warm.
挟む to hold between, to insert
私は本のページの間にブックマークを挟まみした。
I put a bookmark between the pages of the book.
