文字通り、髪の毛の根本が暗くなっていることを指します。
日本語のように「プリン」というかわいい表現ではないのが残念ですね。

北米のプリンは通常一色で、日本のように２色ではないので、このように言うのが良いかなと思います。
また、ヘアカラーをしばらくしていなくてプリン頭になっている時は「I need to touch up my roots.」「I need to color my roots.」と言います。
