My sister is a high school student.
My sister
She is a high school student.
As many people know, you are in high school for four years. You can simple say my sister is currently in high school, or you could be more specific.
My sister is a Freshman (1st year)
My sister is a sophomore (2nd year)
My sister is a Junior (3rd year)
My sister is a senior (4th year)
My sister is a Freshman
My sister is a sophomore
My sister is a Junior
My sister is a senior
The term "high school student" is used to refer to a child in high school.
However, there may be different levels at which the student is - junior or senior high school student.
E.g. My sister is a junior high school student. She just started high school. My brother is a senior high school student and he is graduating at the end of this year.
My sister is a junior high school student. She just started high school. My brother is a senior high school student and he is graduating at the end of this year.(私の妹は中学生です。
High school student is someone who attends highschool. Sometimes in countries such as New Zealand or Australia, we use the term "Secondary School Student" instead of High School Student.
If you are talking specifically about your sister to someone who also resides in your area, you would probably use some format similar to the third example above as this person would be familiar with the various school names. If the listener comes from elsewhere or your sister attends school in some other distant location, then examples one and two may be more appropriate.
In Australia we have Primary School (Junior School) and High School, but they are slowly bringing in Middle School which is the first 4 years of high school.
In a couple of years rather than just having High School we will have two levels of high school and be able to say.
"My sister is in Middle School", or "My sister is in High School" Both of which will explain that my sister is no longer in primary school.
オーストラリアには「Primary School(1年生~6年生)」と「High School(7年生~12年生)」がありますが、徐々に「Middle School(7年生~10年生)」を取り入れています。
"My sister is in Middle School"
または、
"My sister is in High School"
I am a high school student.
I was bullied in high school.
I'm starting high school this year.
