When working in the UK you are entitled to 5 weeks off work for each year you work at a company this is called 'statutory holidays' or 'annual leave' so you still receive your normal wages even though you are off this is called 'statutory holiday pay'
You can also refer to this as 'Paid holidays/vacation' you can also call this 'Paid leave'
Generally, if you are paid whilst on holiday, it is known as holiday pay. If you work for a company you will have 'holiday entitlement' which is the number of days each year when you may receive a paid holiday. In the UK, an employee's holiday entitlement is quite often dictated by government legislation which outlines the minimum number of days holiday per year an employee must receive.
At times we may need a nice vacation from work and we still have vacation days that are available and that are completely paid for.
These types of days can be called "paid leave" or a "paid vacation".
There is another term which is called a "Sabbatical". This kind of paid vacation is not always available in every job, but it usually applies to teachers or university professors who want to take a leave from their work to travel or to study.
The name for a day where you do not work but are still paid may differ depending on what country you are in. In Australia, we use the phrase "rostered day off" for a single paid day away from work.
"Annual leave" is when you have weeks off of work but you are still paid.
働かないけれど、給料がもらえる日の言い方は、どの国にいるかによって異なります。オーストラリアでは、一日の有給のことを"rostered day off" と言います。
"Annual leave"は、何週間もの有給のことを言います。
What you see provided above are the words we use to describe time we take off from work but are still paid for. There are different reasons why we would still receive the same payment from our work. For example if a woman has a child she may take maternity leave. This means she is leaving her work temporarily to take of her new born baby.
If talking about a day of holiday or a sick day, holiday pay or sick pay is sufficient. Other forms of paid leave such as maternity or long service would be specified in the same manner.
"day of holiday"(休暇)や"sick day"(病気欠勤日)について言うなら、"holiday pay"や"sick pay"が使えます。
"maternity leave"(産休)や"long service leave"(永年勤続休暇)など他の有給休暇についても同様に表せます。
