You can ask someone how they want a specific drink by asking "How do you like your (drink name)". For example, "How do you like your whisky?". They may answer with words such as "neat", "straight", or "on the rocks".
If you want to know what kind of alcoholic drinks they generally like, you may ask "What do you like to drink?".

If you want to be a little formal with the question then you can politely ask someone how they like their drink to be served. ''Just the way it is'' means you do not want anything added to it.

"How" is the best question word to ask about their preferences because you want the listener to describe the way in which they prepare their drink. At the end of the sentence, you can all in what type of alcohol or drink you want to ask about.

Asking someone how they take their liquor will let them explain what they drink and what style of preparation they prefer.
