予期せぬ出来事って英語でなんて言うの？

「予期せぬ出来事」は unexpected circumstances、 sudden accident、unplanned occurrence と言います。 Since a sudden accident has come up, I can not make it. I can not make it は「〜出来ません」のカジュアルな表現で、最初のnot available はもっとフォーマルな言い方です。

I couldn't make it to work due to an unexpected event! 「予期せぬ出来事が起きたので仕事に行けなかった」とか、I was confronted with an unforeseen event.「予期せぬ出来事に直面した。」などのように使えます。 "unthinkable event"は、「考えられないような出来事」って言う意味です。
