気分で何かをする時は「I feel like it」。

過去形で、気分でそのドレスを選んだと言うなら、「I felt like it」。

例文：

= Because I felt like it.

「そういう気分だったの」という表現は英語で "I was in the mood for it."とも言うことができます。「mood」は気分を意味し、「in the mood for~」で「〜する気分である」となります。
