著者って英語でなんて言うの？

1.) author (著者)　「著者」は英語でauthorと訳せます。
例えば、
I want to get my favorite author's autograph. (一番好きな著者のサインをもらいたい。)

I think I will meet the author of this moving book and get his/her autograph. (この感動した本の著者に会ってサインをもらおうと思っています。)

注意：著者は男性の時はhisを使いますが、女性の時はherを使います。

「著者」は英語で 'author' と言います。
特に本の著者か小説家かの著者を話す場合はこの表現を使います。

'writer' とも言います。自分のことを筆者という場合とか、脚本の著者とか、記事の記者とかそういう場合はこの表現を使います。

例文で使い分けをわかりましょう。
「感動した本の著者に会ってサインをもらたいです。」
'I want to get the author to sign this book that moved me.'
「私は筆者として勤めています。」
'I work as a writer.'
「この小説の著者は将来にノーベル文学賞を受賞すると思います。」
'The writer of this novel will win the Nobel price for literature in the future I think.'

「著者」は英語で２つの言葉があります。まずは author です。この場合には一番適当だと思います。普段には本や小説の関係の人についてと使われています。例えば、

I want the author’s signature. (I want the author to sign my book)
著者のサインをもらいたいです。

Writer は「著者」として使えますけど、author の方が自然です。論文や新聞と使われています。そして、プロジェクト（映画、漫画、など）とよく使われています。例えば、

The writer for this essay researched a lot.
この作文の作家はたくさん研究しました。

I'm thinking of getting my book signed by the author.
著者から本にサインをしてもらおうと思っているんだ。

I'm thinking of.... =　〜と思っている

有名な人だったら、a famous writerと言えます。

writerは小説を書く人です。

「感動した本」の英訳：
・"deeply moving book" ←誰でも読めば感動するはずという意味合いがあります。
・"book that was deeply moving to me" ←自分だけ感動した意味です。

「感動した本の著者に会ってサインをもらおうと思っています。」の例文：
・"I am thinking of meeting the author of a deeply moving book to get his/her signature."

・"I am thinking of meeting the author of a book that was deeply moving to me, and getting his/her signature."
