まず最初の文、Nothing is more A than Bで BよりAなことはないというのは定型表現なのでよく使えます。regrettableで後悔すること、not having triedでやらなかいこと、挑戦しない事を表します。
２つ目はA is better than B で「AはBよりマシ」という意味でAに挑戦して失敗するを入れ、Bに何もやってみないを当てはめ、やらないよりはやって後悔した方がマシという表現になります。at all は完全に、何にもという意味が付け加えられます。

この文は直訳すると意味ちゃんと通じること賀できなくて、さらにあまりよく言わないことだと思うから、たくさんお言い方があるはずです。
悩んでいる相手に応援したいなら、「take the plunge」という表現は便利です。「辛そうけど、やってみればどう?」のような意味があります。
