レジはどこですか？って英語でなんて言うの？

今回は、シチュエーションに合わせて例文を２つご紹介させて頂ければと思います。

例１）Do you know where the cashier is?
「レジは、何処にあるか知ってますか？」

他のアンカーさんでも例で上がっているものも、もちろん自然で使えますが、聞く相手によって、こっちの文章が良い場合があります。

今回、こちらの英文は、聞く相手が、お店の人ではなく、お店にいる一般客に使うことを目的とした文になります。

例）Could you tell me where the cashier is？
「レジがどこにあるか教えていただけますか？」

もちろん、こちらの文も自然ですが、レジがどこにあるか？知っていることを前提で聞いているという英語なので、定員さんに聞くのはOKですが、お店でショッピングをしている方が、必ずしも知っているとはわからないので、今回の例1のような文章をその場合は使うとよいと思います。

もし、そういう英語で聞く対象にこだわらないような英語をいうなら、例2だと大丈夫だと思います。

例2）Excuse me. Where can I pay this(these)?
「すいません、何処でこれを支払うことができますか？」

ご参考になれば幸いです。

Could you はとても丁寧な表現となります。Can / Could から始まって where/what 等の WHが続く質問は、その後に主語・動詞と続けて用います。
例）Could you tell me what your name is?　Can you tell me where you live?

レジを cashier と言いますが、場所によっては till とも言います。
例）You can pay it at till number 3. （３番レジでお支払いできます）

もう少しカジュアルに Where can I pay this? (thisまでいう）も使えますよ。

ちなみに、「こちらでお会計できます」と言いたい際は You can pay it (over) here. の他にも、I can ring you (over) here. と、ring を使うこともあります。

cashier とはレジ打ちをする人を指し、レジ（機械）のことはcash registerと言います。
どちらも同じ場所を指しているので好きな方を使ってください。

Cashierはレジ打ちをする人を指すので、立派な職業名でもあります。

I'm a cashier at the drugstore.
私はドラッグストアでレジ打ちをしてます。

I'm looking for a checkout.
(アイム　ルッキング　フォー　ア　チェックアウト)
「レジを探しています」

(ホエア　イズ　イット)
「どこでしょうか？」

「どこで払うことが出来ますか？」

「レジの人はどこに居ますか？」

if you would like to ask someone where the cash register is, you can do so by saying something like "I'm sorry, but where can I find the cash register/cashier?" or "Do you know where the cash register/cashier is by any chance?" These are some nice and polite ways for you to say this to someone.

Examples:

I want to buy this, where is the checkout?
I want to pay for this, where is till?
I would like to buy this, where is the cashier?
Could you tell me where the cash register is located in this store?

When asking for something and you need to interrupt someone to ask a question, it is a polite way to say 'excuse me' or 'please' and 'thank you'

In the UK, we would commonly say till or checkout.
You can use any of the three sentences above to ask for the cash register.
