単に「力」powerを使うこともありますが、「公的に認められた力」に関してはauthorityが威厳がある感じがすると思います。
exercise authority ＝「権力を行使する」
ただ、national authority というと「（権限を持つ）国の機関」という意味になります。
「国家権力」は、power of state や state power になります。
「権力」は英語でpowerやauthorityなどと言えます。この２つが一番一般的に使っている言葉だと思います。他に、influenceという言葉も使えます。influenceは「影響」か「勢力」という意味します。「権力」はよく「政治的の権力」というニュアンスがあります。しかし、英語でpowerかauthorityが政治の場合じゃなくても使えます。
ちなみに、「権力を行使する」は英語でexercise powerと言えます。それに、「国家権力」は英語でpower of the stateかgovernment authorityと言えます。
例：
He exercised his power as the president.
彼は社長としての権力を行使しました。
Teachers have authority over their students.
先生は生徒たちに権力を持っています。
Laws are enforced by the government's authority.
法律は国家権力によって施行されています。
Right というのは日本語で「権力」です。
例：
After the divorce father has the right to spend time with children.
離婚後、父親は子供と時間を過ごす権利があります。
Employees have the right to take days-off a couple of times a year.
従業員は、年に2、3回休みを取る権利があります。
