薬局はどこですか？って英語でなんて言うの？

'Drugstore' and 'pharmacy' are more US than UK expressions, although' pharmacy' is also widely used in the UK now. However, the usual word is still, 'chemist's'. Chemist = a shop where medicinal drugs are dispensed and sold, and in which toiletries and other medical goods can be purchased. "Antihistamine tablets are freely available in chemists."

When we want to find something we can use any of these questions. Question one asks if there is a pharmacy in existence nearby the location of the speaker. Question two assumes the existence of a drugstore and simply asks where it is located. Question three may be useful if you are speaking to a non native speaker of English who doesn't understand what a pharmacy/drugstore is.

Sometimes the same thing has a different phrase or word used to describe it (Usually when its the US ... versus the UK) (EG "PANTS" are trousers in America...and underwear in the UK :-) In this case its the name used for a supplier of medicines, DRUG STORE of Pharmacey; for those who need to ..."fill their prescriptions".

"Excuse me,where is the nearest drugstore/pharmacy?" , "Where can I find a pharmacy around here?" and " Is there a drugstore/pharmacy nearby?" are all good ways to ask if there is a pharmacy/drugstore in the area you are in and also ask someone to direct you/give you directions. "Nearby" means close to where you are.

In the UK and Ireland, we say "chemist". In the USA and Canada, they say "drugstore" or "pharmacy". You can use either of these phrases to find out where the Chemist/Pharmacy or Drugstore is. Depending on where you are, you should try and use the correct word. Sometimes you may not be understood but generally, I don't think there would be a problem. In the first question, you are assuming that there is a chemist that exists nearby, so you just want to know where it is exactly. In the second question, you are not sure if it exists, but you are hoping that there is one in the vicinity.

If you need to find a pharmacy and want to know how to ask someone if there is a drugstore/pharmacy nearby, you can say something like "Where can I find a drugstore/pharmacy?" or "Is there a pharmacy/drugstore nearby here?". These are both easy yet polite ways to ask someone this.
