In the United States when you are stopped by the Police, they ask you to keep one hand on the steering wheel while you reach for your driver's license.
When Police pull you over in America, they tell you to always keep one hand where they can see it while you reach for your license with the other hand.

「アメリカで警察に止められると、片手をハンドルに乗せたまま反対の手で免許証を取るように言う。」
keep one hand on the steering wheel で「片手はハンドルの上に乗せておく」

2) When you get pulled over by the Police in America, they tell you to always keep one hand where they can see it while you reach for your license with the other hand.
「アメリカで警察に止められると、常に片手は警官が見えるところに置いておき、反対の手で免許証を取り出すように言われる。」
