おたふく風邪って英語でなんて言うの？

もちろん、「mumps」（専門用語でないため）のほうが一番よく使えそうな表現となります。

おたふく風邪は英語で the mumps と言います。理由が正直分からないですが、何故か the が必ず付きます。例えば「おたふく風邪になった」を言いたいなら I got mumps ではなく、I got the mumps を言います。「おたふく風邪の予防接種をした」を言いたいなら I got vaccinated for the mumps と言えます。
