1.) resentment (恨み) 「恨み」は英語でresentmentと訳せます。Resentmentは人に悪く思うことをしていて、その人がずっと恨むということです。
例えば、
If I watch the news I think that resentment is the cause of many incidents. (ニュースをみていると恨みが原因での事件が多いように思われます)
恨みはシチュエーションによると英語で resentment または a grudge と言います。両方は主に hold と一緒に使われていますが、resentment は a と言いません。
例: hold resentment towards (someone)
have a grudge against (someone)
例文: My idiot ex-husband was there with his new wife, but I held back my resentment and made nice with them.
(私のバカ元夫は彼の新しい妻ろと一緒にいたが私は恨みを飲んで大人しくにした。)
"grudge"（名詞）は「恨み」を意味します。これは「復讐したい」気持ちです。
"resentment"（名詞）も「恨み」を意味します。これも「復讐したい」気持ちですが、たまに「嫉妬」・「羨ましい」による恨みです。
"desire for revenge"（名詞）も「恨み」を意味します。これは"grudge"の長い言い方です。
