汎用性は特に高くはないですが、プラモデルを組み立てて形がなってきたら「It's starting to take shape」と言えます。
「It's starting to take shape」とは、何かが完成に近づいてきたときに使います。
「それっぽいね」とは異なります。
「それっぽいね」と言うなら「It looks like it!」と言いますが、汎用性はそんなにありません。上の言葉のほうが頻繁に使えるでしょう。
It's starting to look like a battleship now, isn't it?
I can see the shape of a battleship now.
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーIt's starting to look like a battleship now, isn't it?
「軍艦ぽくなってきたね」
ーI can see the shape of a battleship now.
「軍艦の形がわかるようになってきた」
