英語では、大人は「遊びに行った」、そういう言い方はしません。
「遊ぶ」という言葉を使っていいのは子供だけです。
なので、こう言いましょう。

又は、
❷I spent the day at Yokohama.
(横浜で一日過ごしました)。
お昼の時間を過ごしただけなら、
I spent the afternoon at Yokohama. と言えますよ〜

A statement such as "I went to Yokohama today",would normally initiate a response such as "What did you do there?" So it is easier to add the second part of the statement, about hanging out with your friends, or having so much fun.

文は過去形なので「hung out」と「chilled」となります。
「chill」はとても砕けたな感じがするから友達に言う表現です。
もちろん、「today」は前の方か後ろの方かどっちでも入れても構いません。

A: What did you do today?
今日何をした？
B: I chilled at Yokohama today!
今日横浜に遊びに行った！

The descriptive words awesome and a blast indicates that you did something amazing or exciting in Yokohama. However it is general and does not specifically explain what you did. If you are posting something on the internet with these phrases, it will probably grab peoples attention.
You want to explain that today you went to Yokohama to hang out. Either of the above suggestions may fit this scenario. However, in isolation, this bland statement is of little interest to anyone. You would normally add a little detail such as why you decided to go there. There must have been a reason?
Eg.'I went to Yokohama today to catch up with some friends.'
