"Homebody" is generally a light term to describe a person who likes to stay home and watch TV, play videogames, or read, they prefer to stay at home on the weekends rather than go out to a bar.
A homebody isn't a bad phrase, some people will actually say that about themselves. I, myself, am actually a homebody sometimes.
A "couch potato" is a lazy person, we call them couch potatoes because they sit on the couch all day and never go out.
Example:
"You see Kevin over there? He hasn't had a job in over a year and just stays home and plays video games all day....what a couch potato"
As you can see, it sounds derogatory and bit shameful so be careful when you say it.
"Anti-social" is simply a person who doesn't like to socialize( talk to people ) too much.
Calling someone "anti-social" can also sound a little bit insulting so be careful to who or how you say it. We may say as a joke to a friend but it all depends on context.
I, myseld, am actually a homebody sometims.「時々家で引きこもったりするときあるんだ。」
"You see Kevin over there? He hasn't had a job in over a year and just stays home and plays video games all day....what a couch potato"
3. 'He suffers from agoraphobia and has introversion issues.'
1. This person stays at home, rarely goes out and likes relaxing (on a sofa).
2. A 'stay at home' is someone who prefers home life to going out anywhere.
3. Agoraphobia is an extreme or irrational fear of open or public places - hence someone suffering from this condition would prefer to stay at home. To be similar to "Hikikomori" in every sense, this person would probably be said to have some 'personal issues' in the UK - meaning is either mentally or emotionally imbalanced. The parents of such a person would naturally be aware and concerned about this person.l
These terms suggest that the person stays in their room/house all day because they have made a decision to be alone, as they lack a desire to socialize with other people.
A recluse or a hermit is a person you would not see on a regular basis, purposefully having very little interaction with others .
These people may go so far as to "live off the grid" which would mean to not be dependant on the government, society and it's products.
However, the term loner is more commonly used for people who are not concerned with others opinions of them and would rather be solitary even when in public places.

An introvert (noun)
Note that 'an' is used because the word 'introvert' starts with a vowel (i)

B: Why?
A: I'm extremely shy and I hate being around big groups of people

B: Why?
A: I'm extremely shy and I hate being around big groups of people

B なんで?

引きこもり is not directly translated into English. It is a type of extreme personality who doesn't like to socialize with anyone.
For someone who stays at home and doesn't talk to other people, we could call them a 'shut-in' or a 'hermit'. Someone who likes to remain at home instead of going out could be a 'homebody'.
A person who has difficulty socializing and stays at home because of it would be called 'anti-social'.
A "couch potato" is a person who stays inside all day and does nothing productive.
"Anti-social" is a term used to describe a person who doesn't really communicate well with others. Anti-social people tend to keep to themselves.
We can put these two together to better describe "Hikikomori", e.g.:
-He is an anti-social, couch potato.
-He leads an anti-social, couch potato lifestyle.
-He is an anti-social, couch potato.
-He leads an anti-social, couch potato lifestyle.
