「置く場所」をwhere it goesと訳しました。このgoは、「行く」という意味ではなく、「置き場」を意味します（精密に言えば、「置くべき場所」や「しまうべき場所」です）。これはよく使います。下に例を挙げます。
The spoons go in the kitchen drawer.
スプーンは台所の引き出しにしまいます。
The car goes in the garage.
車は車庫に停めます。
