There are several languages spoken in Spain inclusing Catalan & Castillian
“Castilian Spanish” refers to a standard kind of Spanish language, or, the purest kind of Spanish accent and pronunciation.
Catalan although spoken by around 9 million people is a language in its own right. It does not derive from Spanish.
In the main tourist centres like Barcelona, 98% of the population speaks Castilian Spanish!

Negative: 'Miguel isn't a Spaniard and so does not speak Spanish.'
