テンションの高い時期と低い時期を交互に繰り返している。→ It has been having the high tension period and the low tension period in turn.若しくは、It has been alternating between the period of high tension and low tension.と表現できます。alternateは複数のものや人が交互に入れ替わるという意味の動詞です。参考になれば幸いです。

ご質問ありがとうございます。 もしわけありませんですが、他の先生の英語をちょっと書き直したいと思います。the high tension periodは不自然ですので、a period of high tension and a period of low tensionに書き直す必要があります。そして、tensionはたまに使っていますがstressの方が自然です。 そして、alternate以外flip-flopとswing between XX and OOも使えます。 例文：I have been flip-flopping between high and low periods of stress recently. 例文：I have been swinging between periods of high and low stress. ご参考になれば幸いです。
