全国的に平年と比べ降雪が少なかったって英語でなんて言うの？

「全国」は国を言わない時には “nationwide”と言いますが、日本全国と言うと “all across Japan”です。「平年」は “typical year”か “normal year”と言います。 “average”は平均ですから、回答１は「今年は平均より少ない」と言う意味です。回答１も回答2もその降雪が少なかった年が終わってからの言い方ですが、過去ではなく今降雪が少ないと言いたい時は “There has been less snowfall than average so far this year.”（今年の今までの降雪は平均より少ないです。）

この表現を使うとき、かっこにある「in Japan」があってもなくても構いません。「years」もあってもなくてもいいです。

「the snowfall」の代わりに「the amount of snow」＝「雪の量」もよく言われています。
