あまり重要じゃない事（A）を話すことにより、問題の本質が分かりにくくなる、と言いたいです。次の文ではおかしいですか？：
Talking about (A) dims what the core problem is.

この場合のDeviatesは本筋から外れているという意味です。

この場合のMaking it difficultは問題の本質の理解を難しくしているという意味です。

Junさんの文でも良いと思いますが、外国人はDimsと聞くと、Dims＝暗くなるという意味で捉えると思います。
