  • I burned/burnt my tongue.

  • My tongue is burnt.

動詞 burn は「焼く」以外に「ひりひりする」という意味もあって火傷や日焼けにも使えます。過去形・過去分詞形のスペルは burnt、burned どちらも使われるようです。(発音は同じ)「火傷した、ひりひりする」という形容詞では 主に burnt と表記されます。 I burnt my tongue while eating ramen. (ラーメンを食べていたら舌を火傷した。) I think my tongue is burnt. (舌火傷しちゃったかも。)

  • I burned my tongue!

  • That was too hot and it scalded my tongue.

When you burn your tongue on something that is too hot you can say: "I burned my tongue!" (burned past tense of burn) "That was too hot and it scalded my tongue." - Scald is when you burn something (usually a body part!) with a hot liquid or steam.
何か熱いもので舌を火傷してしまった場合、次のように言えるかもしれません。 "I burned my tongue!" (burned past tense of burn) (舌を火傷しました(burned は burnの過去形)。) "That was too hot and it scalded my tongue." (熱すぎたので、舌が火傷してしまいました。) scald とは熱い液体や蒸気で何か(特に体の一部)が焼けることを指します。

  • The ramen was " deceptively hot"...and I burned my tongue as a result/

Many of us love "Piping Hot" food...it can bring "a feeling of comfort" on a cold day! Sometimes however, when a dish is served straight way...IE direct from the kitchen. We might misjudge... just how hot it really is ...and we can "scald our mouth" or as it more commonly known..."Burn our tongue"
多くの人が、熱々の食べ物が大好きです。寒い日には、心地よくしてくれるものです。 しかし、時にはキッチンからすぐに食べ物が運ばれてきて、どれくらい熱いか判断を誤り、口をやけどすることがあります。"Burn our tongue"と言うこともあります。

  • I scorched my tongue eating piping hot ramen.

  • I blistered my tongue.

There are many ways to say that you burnt your tongue. You could just say " I burnt my tongue" and be done with it, but I added two sentences that portrays how it feels to burn your tongue better. "Scorched" is a synonym for burnt, but it has more impact on a person and creates better imagery. "Piping hot" means the same as "boiling hot" or just "very hot". In the second sentence, I used the word "blistered" instead of "burned" once again. This word creates the image that you have blisters on your tongue from eating something that is too hot. Hope this helps!

  • I burned my tongue while eating ramen!

Burned is the past tense of burn. If you burned your tongue while eating ramen then the temperature was too hot and it scalded your tongue. I have definitely done because I did not have the patience to wait for the beautiful ramen to cool down! :) It is not pleasant! :)

  • I scalded my tongue.

We can use the verbs, "to burn," or, "to scald," to express that we ate something so hot that we hurt our tongue. We can also use the adjective version of the word with, "burnt."
