一般的にいう「オリンピック選手村」には the が付きませんが、どれかのオリンピックを指した場合は特定していますので the が付きます。
また大会が異なる場所（市）で行われる場合は、選手村も複数作られます。 その場合は、ｓを付けて複数形にします。
The (Tokyo) Olympic Village will be developed near my town.
こんな表現でも「私の住む街のそばに選手村ができます」が表現できますよ。
ちなみにオリンピックは英語では
・The (開催地）Olympics
・The (開催地）Olympic Games
となります。 この際、日本語の「オリンピック」も「オリンピックス」にすればいいのに、と思う個人的意見です（笑）

The correct term for this is 'Olympic village'. This is the place where the athletes competing in the olympic games stay during the competition. Some people also call it 'athletes village', this is OK to say but can be used for any athletics competition. The Olympics is a special event so we should use 'Olympic Village'! I hope this helps!
