掲示板のあまり良くないコメントに対して、下記の２つ英文を使えると思います。
①Why would they say something so severe like that?
和文のように「なんでそう両極端な話になるかな」を表します。
コメントが酷くて、なぜそういう話してたと考えたら、このような英文を使えます。
②I don't know what that person was thinking saying something so absurd.
日本語だと「あの人なぜそう無茶話してて、何考えてるの？」を表します。
