〇〇だろうと思っていた。って英語でなんて言うの?

私は北ヨーロッパがストレスの少ない地域だろうと記事を読む前から思っていた。と言いたいです。 確信は持っていなかったけれど、たぶんそうだろうと思っていたというニュアンスを出したいです。

ご質問ありがとうございます。 「I (already )knew that ○○」や 「I assumed that ○○」や「I kind of guessed that ○○」などの表現はすべて、「○○だと思っていた」や「なんとなく知っていた」ということを表すことができます。 「I (already) knew that ○○」は、一番確信度が高く、「I already knew that ○○, but i was just making sure.」=「だいたいそうだろうと思っていた・知っていたけど・一応確認してみただけ。」という表現がよくつかわれます。 ご参考になれば幸いです。
