~~~~~~~ {例} I like apples. リンゴが好き。 I don't like vegetables. 野菜が苦手。 I don't like coffee. コーヒーが苦手。 お役に立てば幸いです。 ありがとうございました。

'My cup of tea' = what I like to take or leave something = to be indifferent to something To do it for me = excite me
'My cup of tea' = 自分の好きなもの to take or leave something = 何かに対して無関心さを表します。 To do it for me = 自分を興奮させる。

When giving a description of something that you dislike or have a slight unfavorable feeling about you can say: I'm not fond of - This means I don't like very much or these are not my favourite. '...is not my thing' - This means it is not your favorite choice or something you would choose. "I'm not a huge fan of.." Means that it is also not your preference. You would prefer something else. I hope that helps!
そんなに好きじゃないものや、嫌いなもののことを話す時、このような表現が使えます。 I'm not fond of ... これはそんなに好きじゃない、という意味です。 ... is not my thing これは好まないこと、あえて選ばないようなことを指します。 I'm not a huge fan of ... これも自分の好みでないことを意味します。他のもののほうが好きだということです。 参考になればうれしいです!

dislike' and 'don't like' are similar. They can therefore be used interchangeably. 'Don't like' is more common in everyday conversation. When expressing this to someone you can be specific about which bugs you don't like Examples I dislike ants. I don't like flies. I dislike beetles. ___________________________________________________________________ Examples A: I dislike bugs. B: Me too. A: I have an ant farm. B: I don't like bugs. I especially don't like ants.
dislike' と 'don't like' は同意語 どちらでも相互性があります。'Don't like' のほうが日常会話では一般的です。 どの虫が嫌いなのか特定の虫の名前で表現するならば 例 I dislike ants.ありがきらいです。 I don't like flies.ハエがきらいです。 I dislike beetles 甲虫類がきらいです。 ___________________________________________________________________ 例 A: I dislike bugs.虫がきらいです。 B: Me too.わたしもです。 A: I have an ant farm.ありの巣があるの。 B: I don't like bugs. "I have an aversion to bugs." This means that you dislike insects although you don't necessarily hate them. You could also mean that you are against having them around you. "I am not crazy about insects." This means that although you don't so much as hate them, you do not really like them either. I am crazy about bugs = this would mean that you really love having them around them. "I am not fond of insects." This means that when you think about bugs they don't inspire warm feelings/You don't love them. To be fond of something is to really love it and cherish it.

To explain that you don't like bugs very much, but you don't exactly "hate" them either, you can say: "Insects are not my thing." "I'm not a big fan of bugs."
虫が「嫌いでもないが好きでもない」なら、次のように言えます。 "Insects are not my thing." "I'm not a big fan of bugs." (虫は苦手/あまり好きじゃない)

  • "To not be a fan"

  • "to take it or leave it"

    play icon

"To not be a fan" --> we use this expression when saying that we don't really like something but it's not totally something that we hate. In a way, it is to say that we just don't really care about it very much ex : I'm not a fan of sporting events. "to take it or leave it" --> we can use this expression in a very similar way when trying to show that we don't really like something, but we don't really hate it either. ex : I can take it or leave it.
"To not be a fan" →この表現は「嫌いでもないけどあまり好きでもない」というときに使います。あまり関心がないということです。 例: I'm not a fan of sporting events. (スポーツにはあまり興味がない) "to take it or leave it" →この表現も「嫌いでもないけどあまり好きでもない」というとき、同じように使うことができます。 例: I can take it or leave it. (そんなに好きでもない)

  • I am not fond of bugs!

    play icon

  • I am a bit weary around bugs.

    play icon

The word fond means to like something, but is an adjective so used differently to the word 'like'. A common example is something like ... I am fond of pop music. Weary is an adjective that means you don't really want to experience or see something. We can use 'a bit' in front of this word to show the feeling is not too strong.
fond' は 'to like something'(~が好き)という意味です。ただ、'fond' は形容詞です、なので 'like' とは使い方が異なります。 よく使われる例には、 I am fond of pop music.(ポピュラー音楽が好きです) などがあります。 'weary' は「経験したくない/見たくない」という意味の形容詞です。その気持ちがそれほど強くないなら、この前に 'a bit'(少し)が使えます。

I don't like bugs. 「私は虫はあまり好きではありません」 上記のように英語で表現することができます。 don't like で「好きではありません」となります。 hate と言うと「嫌い」になります。 例: I don't like pizza very much. 私はピザはあまり好きではありません。
