「a problem occurred」は 間違えるわけではないがこの話に対して、ちょっと違和感だと思います。
それ以外、5Gさんの英文にて最後の部分「I charged $30 for a rip-off」の代わりに「I was charged $30. What a rip-off!」の方が良いと思います。
最終的に「I had a problem. Before I got on the taxi, the driver said that the fare was $10, but when I got here, I was charged $30. What a rip-off!」になります。
