その日が来るのが怖いって英語でなんて言うの？

年老いたペットを見てると、いつか来る別れが怖いです。\"いつかは別れるけどその日が来るのが怖い\" どう言えば良いでしょうか。この場合の怖いはscaryやafraidなのでしょうか？宜しくお願い致します。

その日が来るのが怖い、はI fear that dayで表現できますが、
年老いたペット(例えばワンちゃんなら)の話での\"いつかは別れるけどその日が来るのが怖い\"は、
I fear the day that my dog will dieで自然に表現できます。
直訳的なI know that my dog will die someday, but I fear that dayもOKですね。
