2つ目の例文のように、email は動詞としても使えます。カジュアルな表現ですが同僚なら問題ないでしょう。
sent（送った）は send（送る）の過去形です。
また "I just sent you an email. " など just を挿入すると「たった今メールを送りました」という意味になります。
"I emailed you." Tells them you sent them an email.
"I sent you an email." This explains you sent them an email.
