It's freezing outside and the temperature's dropping! You have your long-johns on and 2 pairs of socks and a vest and two shirts, a pair of corduroy trousers a sweater and a lumberjack's jacket...and you're still freezing despite wrapping up warm!
To keep out the cold you could put on some more clothes, do some exercises....or maybe just drink that bottle of Jack Daniels!
温度が下がっていて、外はいてついている。ももひきと靴下は2つ、ベストとシャツを二枚、ズボンとジャケットを着て、そんなにwrap up warm (重ね着)しているのに寒いときもありますよね。
leep the cold out は、服をもっと着ること、運動したり、アルコールを取ってあったまることです。

The most common way to describe wearing lots of clothes to stay warm is called "layering" or "layers."
You could say, "Today, is very cold out. I had to layer up in order to stay warm!"
You could also say, "You should put more layers of clothing on in order to stay warm!"
The most used expression would be layering of clothing. The practical application is that once you get warmer, you can remove some of the clothing items.
Layering is also a form of cloaking oneself with several garments.

実際、暖かくなると重ね着は少なくなります。
layering はcloakingの一種で、複数の服を重ねて着ることです。
Layering is great for cold days and nights. You can also find women of a particular age will wear layers of clothing. I find that wearing light layers are easier than putting on bulky clothes. I enjoy layering up and being able to remove a article of clothing if I get too warm.
this is commonly called "wearing many layers" or "wearing a lot of cloths"
example sentence:

"it is cold today, make sure you wear a lot of cloths"
When it is cold outside and you want to wear as many clothes or more than one set of clothes e.g a vest, t shirt, jumper and coat, this is called layers, here the said person is wearing 4 layers of clothes.
example sentence:
"You have to wrap up warm tonight it's freezing!".
"how many layers are you wearing outside?".
