かがみあきらさんも言及されているように、どのような掛け声（もしくは無言）で手を挙げるかというのは、先生が何を聞いているのかによって変わります。
その授業での白熱の度合いなどによることもあって、だから無言で手を挙げるというケースもあり得るんですね。
私自身がアメリカの高校で授業を受けていた経験からご紹介させていただきますと、
基本的には先生の問いかけに対応した文法で声を上げるということです。
たとえば、
Does anybody know what this means?
「誰かこれの意味が分かる人はいますか？」
とか
Who knows what this means?
「誰かこれの意味が分かる人は？」
のように一般動詞を使って先生が聞いた場合、
I do!（doはknowを受けています）
「僕は分かるよ！」
のように言いながら挙手をします。
また、
Has anyone read the story?
「誰かそのお話を読んだことがある人は？」
のようにhave(has)を用いて聞いた場合は、
I have!
「私は読みましたよ」
のようにhaveを用いて反応します。
同様に、be動詞を用いた文で聞かれれば
Who is coming to the game tonight?
「今夜の試合を見に来る人は？」
I am!
「僕は行くよ」
助動詞（canやwillなど）を用いた文で聞かれれば
Can anyone do me a favor?
「誰かお願いを聞いてもらえない？」
I will!
「私がやります！」
などと言って手を挙げることになります。
そういう意味ではこうした挙手の際の掛け声はとても文法的で理にかなっています。
もちろんIt' me!や、単にMe me meなども口語上は十分使えますが、上記のような表現で挙手をされたい場合、I do!と言うべきところをI am!と言ってしまうようなミスをするととても不自然なものになってしまいますので、先生がどのような意味と文法で聞いているか、ということを大切になさってください。

It is very clear and straightforward if you say 'I know the answer!. But, if you just say 'I do! There is definite vagueness. This is because the verb 'do' has several meanings of which this context is but one. It takes on two verb forms as follows:
Auxiliary verb: Do you like partying? Oh yes I do.
Intransitive verb: He parties just as much as I do.
When people are affirming their marriage vows during a wedding ceremony, they agree by saying : I do!
So, when the teacher asks: "Who knows the answer?"
My advice is, you may say:
I do! I know the answer!
or
Me teacher! Me!
or
I know the answer!
I know the answer!’というのはストレートではっきりしていますが、ただ単に'I do!'というとあいまいさがあります。動詞doは、文脈によっていくつか意味があります。以下に示したように、
Auxiliary verb: Do you like partying? Oh yes I do.
助動のdo：パーティーはすき？うん好きだよ。
Intransitive verb: He parties just as much as I do.
自動のdo: 私がパーティーが好きなのと同じくらい、彼はパーティーが好きだ。
結婚式で結婚の誓いの言葉のときに、'I do!'と言います。
なので、先生が「答えがわかる人？」と聞いたら、
I do! I know the answer!
はい！答えがわかります！
Me teacher! Me!
先生、私！
I know the answer！
私、わかります！
と言うのをお勧めします。
Usually you raise your hand so you don't interrupt and you wait until the teacher asks you.
Raising your hand means you are ready to answer.
If you have raised your hand but the teacher can't see you, you can say, excuse me, I know this.
普通は手をあげれば、先生が尋ねるまで何もいうことなくて良いでしょう。
Raising your handとは、手を上げることで、これは答える準備ができているときに使うものですから。
もし手をあげているのに先生が自分をみていなければ、その時にexcuse me, I know this. というように使うことができます。
1.I would like to give it a try.
- This means that you would like to attempt answering.
2.Me me!!!
-This means you are trying to get the attention of the teacher.
1.I would like to give it a try.
これは自分が答えてみたい！という意味で使えます。
2.Me me!!!
先生に、自分がこたえたいとアピールする時に使えます。
A) Me!
"Me teacher pick me ! i know the answer"
"Me me me me!"
"Please let me answer ma'am !"
B) I do!
"i DO!, i know the answer!"
"Teacher i do , i do!!"

So any of these responses is fine, though as a classroom teacher myself I would prefer students to just put their hands up in silence.
This sounds a bit mean but if every student shouts out 'me me me' like they do in primary school- it gets so noisy in the classroom and its really not needed! :)
The teacher has asked for hands up because even if you don't say anything they can see who knows the answer and who doesn't.
Often as a teacher, you will try and ask students who don't have their hand up, to find out whether they know the answer and why they don't have their hand up.
But it definitely depends on the situation :)

これはちょっと意地悪に聞こえるかもしれませんが、小学校の子供たちが一斉にme me me!とやられたら、非常にうるさいでしょう。
だから本当に大丈夫笑
先生は手を挙げるようにいった。なぜなら何もいわないと先生に何もわかっていないんだとばれてしまうから。
教師として、わかったうえで手をあげていないのかどうかを見究めるために、手をあげていない子をあてます。
けどこういうのは本当にシチュエーションによりますよね。
