  • There is a smoking area outside.

  • We have a designated smoking area outside.

  • Smoking is only permitted outside in designated areas.

Designated - mean that it is an area just for smoking. Some offices have an area where their staff can go and smoke. Other offices don't mind where someone smokes as long as it is outside. Hope this helps Jane:)

Please kindly note that the smoking area is outside the building. The smoking area is outside the building. ^^

  • Designated Smoking area...

  • We have provided a designated smoking area, just outside of the building;-D

Smoking is no longer considered "cool" or healthy; and yet so many of us still cannot break the habit! Companies have now been forced to provide " designated areas" for their smokers ...to enjoy their nicotine habit...(away from non-smokers!.) "We have provided a designated smoking area, just outside of the building;-D"
"We have provided a designated smoking area, just outside of the building;-D" ビルの外に喫煙場所を設けました。

  • The smoking area is outside.

  • Excuse me/ I'm sorry but smoking is not permitted in the building, the smoking area is outside.

  • No, I am sorry but smoking is not permitted in the building, but you can smoke outside.

"The smoking area is outside" tells them where to go and smoke. When someone asks if they can smoke inside you can say. "No, I'm sorry but smoking is not permitted in the building, but you can smoke outside." "No" answers their question. "i am sorry" apologies for an inconvenience. the rest of the sentence explains where they can smoke. When someone starts smoking inside you can approach them and say. "Excuse me or I am sorry" this will politely let them know you are talking to them. fallowed by "but smoking is not permitted in the building, the smoking area is out side." which explains the smoking area is outside.
No, I'm sorry but smoking is not permitted in the building, but you can smoke outside. Excuse me or I am sorry その後のbut smoking is not permitted in the building, the smoking area is out side.

  • May I direct you to the smoking area just outside the building?

  • For the convenience of all visitors, there is a designated smoking area just outside the building.

Intonation and body language are everything when it comes to politely guiding someone to another area of the building. "May I direct you to the smoking area just outside the building?" "Oh yes, thanks for telling me."there is also a standard phrase which may be used also. It may seem a little robotic but it is very popular: "For the convenience of all visitors, there is a designated smoking area just outside the building."
例 "May I direct you to the smoking area just outside the building?" "Oh yes, thanks for telling me." 例 "For the convenience of all visitors, there is a designated smoking area just outside the building."

  • There is a smoking area outside.

  • The smoking area is outside.

  • Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

We can either use the construction, "there is a," or simply put, "smoking area," as the main noun and in front of the sentence. We can also say that it is only allowed in, "designated areas."
