  • I am very sorry, but I am currently out of town.

  • I cannot hang out today because I am away on vacation.

  • I am unable to hang out today because I am on holiday.

Being out of town simply means you are away from the city you live or work in. When you go on vacation, you can apologize as a sign of respect and state that you are away on vacation. Americans usually do not say holiday. However, I have noticed that you will find many English speakers outside of America refer to their vacation as "holiday". The two terms mean the same thing.
Being out of town で、いつも住んでいる場所、いつも働いているオフィスから離れている、と言う意味です。 休暇に出るとき、敬意を示すために休暇に行くことを謝罪するのがいいでしょう。 アメリカ人はholidayとは言いませんが、アメリカ以外では休暇をholidayというところが多いです。 "holiday"もvacationも同義です。

  • Thanks very much for the invite, but I am on vacation and nowhere near there.

  • It definitely would have been great to hang out today but I am on vacation and traveling abroad.

It is courteous to thank the person for the invitation, 'thanks very much for the 'invite' and then you carry on to give the reason for declining. Please note that the word 'invite' functions both as a verb and as a noun. In this context, it has been used as a noun. So, you may say: Thanks very much for the invite, but I am on vacation and nowhere near there. As a verb 'invite' means to 'make a polite, formal, or friendly request to (someone) to go somewhere or to do something'. As a noun, 'invite means 'an invitation'. The adverb 'definitely' means 'without doubt'. The adjective 'great' has several meanings, but, in this context, it means 'wonderful; first-rate; very good'. So, you may say: It definitely would have been great to hang out today but I am on vacation and traveling abroad.
例文 'thanks very much for the 'invite' 誘って頂きありがとうございます。 のような招待に対するお礼の言葉を言うと礼儀正しいです。そして誘いを断る言葉を続けます。 'invite' という言葉は動詞と名詞として機能することに注意して下さい。この文では名詞として使われています。 ですからこう言うことができます。 例文 Thanks very much for the invite, but I am on vacation and nowhere near there. 誘って頂きありがとうございます。でも今旅行中でそこにいないのです。 'definitely'という副詞は”疑いなく”という意味です。 ”great”という形容詞には意味がいくつかありますが、この文章では、”素晴らしい、一流の、とても良い”という意味です。 ですからこう言うことができます。 例文 It definitely would have been great to hang out today but I am on vacation and traveling abroad. 今日出かけることができていれば本当に良かったのですが、今海外旅行中です。

  • "Away on a trip"

  • I'd love to hang out...but I am away on a trip! So let's catch up when I return;-D

"TIming is everything in life" (adage) We cannot always "be there" for everyone. Sometimes we may have "prior commitments" and in this particular case... (happily!) we are said to be " away on a trip" or "Out of town for a while". (No fault... no foul:-)
「タイミングこそすべて」(ことわざより)私たちは、みんなのためにどこかへかけつけることはできないですよね。時には、優先順位をつけなくてはならないこともあるかもしれません。このような場合には、出かけている、旅行中という意味で、" away on a trip" または "Out of town for a while"と表現することができます。

  • "I can not hang out today, I am currently travelling"

  • "I am travelling at the moment, otherwise I would love to hang out with you today"

If someone asks you if you can hang out today, and you wanted to explain that you can't because you are currently on vacation travelling, you could say either of the following: "I can not hang out today, I am currently travelling" or "I am travelling at the moment, otherwise I would love to hang out with you today".
「今日遊ぼう」と誘われたとき、「今旅行中だから駄目」と答えたいということですね。次のように言えます。 "I can not hang out today, I am currently travelling"(今日は遊べない、今旅行中だから) "I am travelling at the moment, otherwise I would love to hang out with you today"(今旅行中なんだ。旅行でなかったら、一緒に遊びたかったよ)

  • on vacation

  • traveling

  • on a trip (to ....)

A common way to say that you are traveling is to say: "I am on vacation" or "I am on a trip." Vacation and trip are words that let your reader/listener know that you are not at your home/office and that you are traveling. The 2 words are synonyms and the meanings are almost identical. I am on vacation and can not receive emails or phone calls. I am on a trip to Australia and do not have cellphone service.
「旅行中です」の一般的な言い方には、 "I am on vacation"(旅行中です) "I am on a trip."(旅行中です) などがあります。 "Vacation" と "Trip" はどちらも「旅行」を表します。この二つは "synonyms"(同義語)です。 I am on vacation and can not receive emails or phone calls.(ただ今休暇中で、メールや電話に出ることができません) I am on a trip to Australia and do not have cellphone service.(今オーストラリアに旅行中で、電話に出ることができません)

  • I'm so sorry but I am currently on vacation.

  • I am not around right now as I am on holiday, so I will not be able to join.

If someone has asked you to go out with them but you want to tell them you won't be able to make it because you will be on vacation, you can say something like "I'm so sorry but I am currently on vacation." or "I am not around right now as I am on holiday, so I will not be able to join.". These are polite ways of getting your message across.
「一緒に遊ばない?」と友達に誘われ、「旅行中だから駄目」と答えたいということですね。次のように言えます。 "I'm so sorry but I am currently on vacation."(ごめんなさい、今旅行中なんだ) "I am not around right now as I am on holiday, so I will not be able to join."(今旅行中で留守しているんだ。だから行けないや) これらは丁寧な言い方です。

  • I'm traveling at the moment.

  • Actually, I'm on vacation.

  • I'm on a trip right now.

Each of these are clear and common ways to say that you are unavailable because you are traveling. "At the moment" is a very common way to say right now, so popular that it is often abbreviated when texting with a friend to "atm." "Actually" is a common word used in a situation such as this, where the person may be surprised because your response is unexpected. It can be placed in a variety of different spots in this sentence, but all are correct. For example, "I'm actually on vacation." and "I'm on vacation actually." are also accurate and clear. The most simple response is "I'm on a trip right now." It is clear and easy to understand, however I prefer either of the first two options, as they use popular expressions that demonstrate a higher grasp of the English language.
すべて、よく使われる分かりやすい言い方です。「旅行中なので会えない」と伝えます。 "at the moment" は「今現在」という意味です。これはよく使われる表現で、友達へのメールなどではよく "atm" と省略されます。 "actually" は相手の言葉に驚いたときによく使われます。まさにこの状況ですね。"actually" はいろいろな場所に配置できます。 例えば: "I'm actually on vacation."(実は今旅行中なんだ) "I'm on vacation actually."(実は今旅行中なんだ) これらも、正確で正しい言い方です。 最もシンプルな言い方は "I'm on a trip right now." です。これは分かりやすい言い方ですが、個人的には一つ目・二つ目の例がおすすめです。一般的な表現を使っていて、「英語を知っている人」という印象です。

  • Sorry, I can't meet you today, I am away on holidays

  • I won't be able to see you today because right now I am on vacation

We use the word "holiday" in the UK and Ireland. In Canada and the USA, the word "vacation" is mainly used. The first phrase is very polite and we are apologising to the other person that we can't meet them because we are currently unavailable. Both "away on holidays" and "on holidays" work and have the same meaning. The second phrase is polite also but without the apology. We can add an apology to sound more polite.
一つ目の例はとても丁寧です。ここでは、会うことができないことを謝っています。 "away on holidays" と "on holidays" どちらも使えます。これらは同じ意味です。 二つ目の例も丁寧です。ただ、ここでは謝ってはいません。より丁寧に、謝罪を加えることもできます。

  • Thanks for asking, but I'm currently on holiday at the moment!

  • I'm on holiday at the moment, let's catch up when I'm back?

  • I'm travelling at the moment but i'm keen to hang when I return

When someone thinks of you to do something but your busy, you could thank them then try to make a plan for when your next free. That way they feel like you are returning the question. A good way of doing this would be to say 'I'm on holiday at the moment, let's catch up when I'm back?' Saying 'catch up' means lets hang out and chat when you see each other next on any news you both may have. 'I'm travelling at the moment but i'm keen to hang when I return' This lets them know that your busy at the moment but would like to see them when your back.
忙しくて人の誘いを断らないといけないときは、まず相手の誘いに感謝して、それから次に会う提案をすることができます。こうすると、「断られた」という印象が薄くなります。 例えば、 'I'm on holiday at the moment, let's catch up when I'm back?'(今旅行中なんだ、戻ったら会おうか) のような言い方ができます。 'catch up' は「会って近況を話す」という意味です。 'I'm travelling at the moment but I'm keen to hang when I return'(今旅行中なんだ。戻ったら会おうよ) は、「今は会えないけど、帰ったら会いたい」という意味です。

  • I apologize but I can't hang out today because I'm out of town.

If you "apologize" for something, it is another way to say that you are sorry for something. When turning down an invitation, it is polite to apologize. If you are "out of town," it means that you are on vacation or traveling. I hope that this helps. :)
"I apologize" は "I'm sorry"(ごめんなさい)の別の言い方です。誘いを断るときは、謝ると丁寧です。 "out of town" は「休暇中である/旅行中である」という意味です。 参考になれば幸いです。
