ホテルや駅で何か[失くした](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/70355/)場合、ここに行けば忘れ物、発見できるかもしれません！
I lost my ---. 「---失くしてしまった！」
I lost my iPhone! 「アイフォン失くした！」
というように失くしたものを入れていただければ
忘れ物した！という表現になります♩

property は[資産](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/54986/)、所有物という意味ですので、lost property は「失った所有物」という意味になります。
この「忘れ物」という言葉ですが、日本語と英語では使い方が少し違うので
気を付けてください。
例えば、電車を降りる時になどに一緒にいる人に「[忘れ物無い？](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/55616/)」と言う際、
Do you have a lost item?とは言いません。
英語で言う「忘れ物」は持ち主から離れてしまった物しか指しません。
ですので、この場合は Do you have everything with you? （ちゃんと
荷物全部持った？）という言い方になります。
忘れ物は英語で lost item と言います。
忘れ物を受け取る所は lost item claim 又は lost and found と言います。
「忘れ物をした」と言いたいなら I lost my ○○ 又は I forgot my ○○ と言えます。
例）
電車で傘の忘れ物をした
I lost my umbrella on the train
I forgot my umbrella on the train

If you know where you left something, it is technically not lost - it may just be 'mislaid' which means that you have put something somewhere but may not know its exact location. ie it is a temporary loss. Or you can say that you have just left something somewhere.
'I mislaid some personal belongings at the hotel. I hope someone finds them.'

「忘れ物」 could be translated to “a lost article” or “a forgotten article.”
The place where you would pick up a lost item is called “Lost and Found.”
To ask about a lost article, you could use:
- “I think I forgot something (on the train/at the hotel), where can I ask about that?”
Example:
I left my phone on the train so now I must buy a new one.
(If something is left behind it is abandoned or forgotten. "left behind" is a phrasal verb or idiom)

※ "left behind" は「捨てられた」または「忘れられた」という意味です。"left behind" は句動詞あるいはイディオムです。

I personally would go for lost property, I think it is the most obvious one. But, depending on the situation and what you have lost you can use all three.
