"Hospital" - an institution providing medical and surgical treatment and nursing care for sick or injured people.
"Clinic" - their aim is the same as an hospital. Clinic's are usually smaller in size, compared to hospitals. Clinics are usually found in each community and take care of minor injuries and treatments.
The area of a hospital where people first go in a hospital is called the accident & emergency department (A&E), emergency room (ER), emergency ward (EW) or casualty. If a patient has been referred to the hospital by a doctor and requires admission for medical procedure or care, then the patient or 'inpatient,' would stay in a bed on a ward of the hospital. If a patient is referred to the hospital for specific attention or procedure but only needs to visit during the day for an appointment, then this is called 'the outpatients' department,' and the person attending is known as 'an outpatient.'

A hospital is an institution that provides medical and surgical treatment and nursing care for sick or injured people. If someone is seriously injured in an accident for example, he/she has to be admitted to a hospital where he/she can be either treated or operated on. Being admitted means being given a ward fully equipped with a bed and blankets. The same goes for someone who is seriously sick (ill) and needs hospital care. He/she will be in the hospital receiving treatment until he/she has recovered, when he/she can be discharged.
So, you may say:
The bus overturned and twenty people were seriously injured and admitted to several hospitals.
His father is receiving treatment for prostate cancer at the main hospital.
For serious illness and injury we call it a "hospital". For example "I went to the hospital when I broke my leg"
For minor illnesses and complaints we go to the "doctors". For example "I went to the doctors to get some hay fever medicine."
If someone has a terminal illness they may go to a "hospice" to be cared for. For example "my aunty is in a hospice for cancer patients."
I went to the hospital when I broke my leg.
I went to the doctors to get some hay fever medicine.
My aunty is in a hospice for cancer patients.
She was taken to hospital by ambulance.
If you think you’ve got the flu, you should go to the clinic.
My mother is a nurse. She works at a small health centre.
"Hospital"
Please take me to the nearest hospital."「最寄りの病院に連れてって下さい。」
"Do you know a good hospital in this area?"「
"(Medical) clinic"
When you are ill, or sick, or injured, you should go to the hospital.
For example.
What happened to you?
I think I broke my leg.
We should get you to the hospital now.
I hope this helps.
Have a great day.
Will
