*I really enjoyed this lesson because I learnt something new. This means that you feel like the lesson was worth your time because you benefited from the lesson. You can use phrases like *Today's lesson was very enlightening. It means that there was something you didn't understand and the teacher explained it in a way that you understood it clearly.

To express that you enjoy doing something, you can say something like : It was great to.... I love it when... I really enjoy it when...

By using any of these phrases you are positively telling your teacher that this material was new for you, but you enjoyed the lesson. You are also able to express that you enjoyed learning the material that was new for you.

You are clearly delighted that some new or challenging or unusual material was presented to you during the lesson and you feel it has really helped you! You may declare to your teacher: "It's a great benefit to me, working with some fresh material!" Or, it is always better to be as specific as possible when giving a compliment: "I feel I learnt something new today!"

Native speakers will say like this: “It's a pleasure to learn something new”. There are lots of other ways to say it, but this one is the most accurate and most commonly used. Here is an example on how to use this in a conversation: A: We learned a lot today! B: Indeed. It's really a pleasure to learn something new.

If you enjoy doing something then we often say 'it was great' to describe we enjoyed doing it 'new things' and 'something new' means the same thing , by adding 'this lesson' you are describing what you are talking about
