  • 1. Let's save them for tomorrow, shall we?

    play icon

  • 2. OK, let's just have one now and put the rest away until tomorrow

    play icon

1. You may explain to your child that the sweets can be saved until some time in the future (which to a child always seems to be a lifetime away) however this may cause some unhappiness for the child because naturally, a tasty morsel should be eaten immediately! 2. You could try a small compromise which would be allow the child to 'test' one sweet today and then put away the remaining sweets for the next day?
The sweets can be saved until some time in the future.

  • I know you have a strong appetite for the confectionery on the table, but, I suggest we eat them tomorrow.

  • I suggest we should eat the snacks tomorrow and not today my child.

Most children, if not all, have a strong appetite for confectionery. The noun 'confectionery' is a collective name for chocolates and sweets. Since children love confectionery, it can be a big task convincing your child to postpone the eating of some candies that he/she has been eyeing on the table the whole day. You have to be very persuasive in order to make him/her accept your request. So, you may say to your child: I know you have a strong appetite for the confectionery on the table, but, I suggest we eat them tomorrow. or I suggest we should eat the snacks tomorrow and not today my child.
"I know you have a strong appetite for the confectionery on the table, but, I suggest we eat them tomorrow." "I suggest we should eat the snacks tomorrow and not today my child."

  • It is too late for all that sweet now, you can it them tomorrow.

▪ Lets save it all for tomorrow. This is telling the child directly that he needs to keep the sweet for tomorrow and that he/she can't eat them now. ▪ It is too late for all that sweet now, you can it them tomorrow. This is saying that it is not good to eat sweets so late at night and that the child can eat them tomorrow.
▪ Lets save it all for tomorrow. ▪ It is too late for all that sweet now, you can it them tomorrow.

  • Let's save these treats for later.

  • Let's put these away now so we can eat them tomorrow.

    play icon

"Let's save these treats for later." Treats can mean anything that you like, but shouldn't have on a regular basis. For example: I sometimes will give my cat catnip as a treat for being a good boy! Also, by saying later, especially as a parent, this can mean the next day, or whenever you feel your child can have some! "Let's put these away now so we can eat them tomorrow." This is another way of saying let's save the treats for another day, or in this case, the next day.
I sometimes will give my cat catnip as a treat for being a good boy! "Let's put these away now so we can eat them tomorrow."(これは明日食べられるように取っておこう) これも「おやつを別の日(ここでは「次の日」)に取っておこう」と伝える言い方です。

"save the rest " means to put away something for a later stage for example : i will save this piece of cake for tomorrow B) I am going to put away the rest of the sweets for tomorrow. This is a direct and simple way of saying that the child can get the sweets tomorrow because you are going to put it away for the next day. C) You can eat the rest of the sweets tomorrow . This is also a direct way of telling the child that he/she had enough sweets for the day , he/she can eat the rest ( what's left of it ) tomorrow. I hope this helps :-)
